Manal drops ‘Pas Le Choix’, a brand new French pop tune with an infectious hook that is set to conquer new ground for the rising urban star.
It’s been an incredible 12 months for the Moroccan songstress, who has had a meteoric rise since signing to Sony Music, releasing smash hits Taj, Nah and capping off 2018 with the chart-busting ‘Slay’ that made waves across the world.
‘Slay’ was one of the first songs from the region to feature on Spotify’s Iconic playlists: New Music Friday and Global X. The young star Managed to get more than +60M streams in a short span of time.
The Song
‘Pas Le Choix’ sees Manal reflect on her ambitions for a career in music, a theme set against a flouro-soaked, trop-pop backdrop. The music video features Manal with her crew, dancing through her hometown Marrakech, as vibrant colors and striking visuals set the mood.
Her first, fully French-language song – with lyrics written by the imaginative singer herself – is tinged with irresistible Arabic, English and Latin flare.
The new release is produced by the talented produced by Zak Cosmos Prod, who was also behind Franco-Algerian hit maker L’Algerino’s biggest hit, ‘Les Menottes’. The artist himself became an instant fan after hearing ‘Slay’.
‘Pas Le Choix’ is a fantastic insight into Manal’s passion for experimentation and constant evolution. The song has sparked an exciting collaboration with L’Algerino, too – due to hit the airwaves soon, so stay tuned for news and updates!
Manal is also set to release a new music video later this year – watch this space!
